I am sat at my desk and the phone rings. Is Mrs Taylor in please? No Im sorry she is at work, who is calling please? Asks I.
I am sorry i cant tell you that but it is nothing to worry about, it is just a courtesy call from a company she has an account with.
When will she be in please? Asks the woman at the other end of the phone. I am sorry but I am not prepared to tell you unless I know who to tell her called, Im her husband and I can be trusted to pass on a message. Well I cant tell you that, says she.
Well in that case Im not prepared to tell you when she will be in says I, and puts down the phone.
Why is it all these companies act like the bloody secret service, and before anyone quotes me the data protection act, everything we have is in joint names it is just that some accounts have tracys name first and some have mine first, we had this trouble once when wanting to pay off a bank loan. I was the first named account holder so they would not tell her how much was owing, what a load of bollocks.

All this DPA malarkey is bollocks...we have the same issues about only dsiscussing the rent account with a named tenant. However some tenancies are in single names, but it could be the other party who is working therefore making a rental charge eligible on the property. We cant discuss the rent account with this person but it is them working that has imposed a charged (this goes for marrieed couples too). I know if that was me I'd be dead annoyed if they took my money but refused to discuss any issues with me.
As with bank account too it seems they only discuss anything with the first named person. All I can say is get evrything accesible via the internet and keep a close eye on your accounts.
Rob and I do actually run separate accounts still, but ask him anything about his account and he'd look at you blank, he doesn't even know how to log onto his internet banking. Tis funny when he has to ring them and hes asking me the answers to all the questions. Hes lost patient with it and tells them to discuss everything with me. Was the same the other week when a finance guy came to discuss our remortgage. Rob just invited the guy in told him to talk to me and he'd sign any paperwork once Id looked at all the options. He then cleared off and left me to speak to the guy. Good job he trusts me with everything. Mind you he knows Im my fathers daughter and there is no chance of ripping me off and diving into money that could be used on clothes, shoes or handbags.
Hello, haven't had a connection nearly a week so just looked in. Hope you and yours are all well :)
thanks airlie, not been on much myself lately what with one thing and another. all the best to you too
I remember going to pay a loan off for Wendy once and they said that I could, except when I said, "how much shall I make the cheque out for?" Was a bit comical, in the end, I had to sign a blank cheque and they filled it in. Weird. The world's gone mad I tell you.
Btw, who did it turn out to have been?
