not very good
Another rather inept performance by the robins. why oh why havent we got someone in the middle capable of making a decicion? in last weeks game against dull fc when we had a penalty right infront of the posts why did we not go for the two points, just the same as yesterday when we again got an easy penalty and never took the two points on offer surely they must have realised that it was probably going to be a close game, we also never went for the couple of easy drop goals that were on offer when the giants had pulled it back to 24 24 instead we decided to go for 2 desperate efforts with a minute or so left on the clock, surely it is best to go for an earlyish drop goal and then build on the points lead and not leave it until you are in the desperation stakes. we must improve soon. one good point though is that rufus has been voted the best mascot in super league

Rufus update
I have mentioned rufus and his bike on here and i think i said he seems to get dafter every week, well in todays derby game he made his entrance on..............wait for it..........a hover craft, he even allowed the dull fc mascot to hop on the back. what next?
Summer rugby!
In a manner which only my mother could have pulled off I would like to say........summer rugby be buggered.
Today was the first derby game of the season and it was played in the most attrotious conditions that I can remember at a sporting event for years.
Rovers won the game by 11 points to 10 but that was only to be expected and the score was a foregone conclusion, however the weather was so bad that in the after match interviews, Dull fc head coach Peter Sharp said that apart from 2 of his players picking up injuries he also had 2 players suffering from hyperthermia.
It was so funny to see the south sea islander stanley gene trying to deal with the cold, I think winter to them means temperatures of about 20 degrees!!

The derby game
Friday sees the first derby game of the new season, it is to be played at craven park with a 12:00 kick off.
The game is played on good friday so at least Dull fc will understand how it feels to be crucified at easter.

Bye bye karoo
I have this week telephoned kc and karoo and cancelled my telephone line and my internet subscription, I asked them how much it would cost for me to just keep a line for the internet to operate off and was told that I couldn't do this and I would have to subscribe to their lowest tariff, talk 1, which costs £10.50 per month plus my subscription of £17.98 per month for karoo broadband, I told them that i did not wish to do this as i didn't need a line to make calls as we are going to use our mobiles (i get 15 hours of calls allowed a month on my contract and Tracy gets nearly 10 hours) so we don't need a home phone, so i cancelled and we have today been into town and took out a subscription on a mobile wireless modem on the 3 network which costs us £15 per month which is a saving of £13 per month plus we wont get a phone bill dropping on the mat every 3 months. so anyone who rings us will not be able to contact us on our home line after the 7th April and will have to use our mobiles, so if you need the numbers just ring and ask. p .s if you haven't got our new numbers don't bother ringing the old mobiles only numbers given in the last couple of months are valid.

Dad
My dad has just gone back to the home after a few days in hospital after he had a possible stroke, still not quite sure what it was but whatever it was he doesn't look good. we went to see him today and i have never been moved to tears before but i must admit today i was. it was just too much to take to see this once upright, strong, proud man reduced to a breathing corpse sat in a chair......actually no, id like to change that to slumped in a chair. he couldn't be bothered to eat his lunch which was his favourite meal of fish, but even that has had to be minced up as he has been put onto a soft diet. he could just about suck his drink through a straw but even trying to give him this drink was a job in itself. If anyone ever needed proof there isn't a god you just need to look at him, any caring god would take this man and end his suffering and save any last dregs of dignity that he might possibly still have. Its never nice to actually wish your own father dead but its done for the right reason, for the fact that we love him. I really am surprised my mam hasnt taken him to be with her yet.
