Its been some time since i posted but as most people on here know we have been a bit busy at ours with demolition and re building etc. anyway, the central heating is now in, the walls inside are now taken down, kitchen goes in on the 12th, shed has arrived and is up, gas meter has been moved, new bathroom is installed, tiling gets finished today. I am today knocking down the old gas meter housing to open up the old shed and porch into a utility room, and all this has been bloody murder, we should have a sign outside our house saying "STEPTOES YARD" cos it looks like that right now.
Anyway, I had 6 weeks on sick with a dodgy back and then I was on holiday straight after so that made a total of 7 and a half weeks off work, guess who ended up in hospital on my weeks sick? yep you got it..........me.
This post is to show what an incompetent lot the bloody NHS is, I was admitted to Castle hill hospital with an infected leg, I was told what ward to go to and when i got there they had me down as MRS Taylor, this will explain why i was in a room with 3 old women, I was told i would be in for at least 3 days on a drip and then see how it went, I was taken at 12:15 am for an x ray and neither the nurse or porter knew the security code to enter the department so the porter had to walk all the way around to the back door leaving me and the nurse stood outside in the rain and cold while he got to the door to let us in. I'm not bothered about the cold but if this had been a very old person it might have been a bit uncomfortable for them.
I was woken at 1: 15 am to be told my x rays were fine and i would be seen by a doctor in the morning!!!!
I never slept until about 5:30 when i started to nod off a little, at 6 am i was woken to be given some drugs................................NO DO NT BOTHER!!. 6:15 was shaken again to be asked if i wanted a drink, 6 30 breakfast, 1 spoonfull of cornflakes, was asked if i wanted some toast, this arrived 1 hour later.
8 30 was seen by doctor and after been told i was going to be in for 3 days i was told i was OK to go as my leg was now fine (it was in fact redder than it was when i arrived) was informed i could go as soon as my prescription arrived..................what they really meant was we need your bed.
they changed my bed clothes and found a hand bag under the mattress from the last patient who was in the bed which was stuffed with 10 pound notes, this told me the bed clothes were not changed when i got in the bed because they had to go under the mattress to change it and i was told the sheets are changed every time a patient leaves the bed..............NOT.
Can you wait in the day room for your pills please sir we need the bed.................what a surprise!!!!! and then the delight of lunch, a small dollop of what was supposedly corned beef hash, shit i called it, and i had literally finished it before the tart handing it out had got back to her trolley.
At 1 o clock i asked if i could have some painkillers as my leg was a bit painful, I was told no cos they didnt know what drugs i was on as my notes were at the pharmacy, or so we thought!!!!! a giggly nurse then popped her head into the day room to inform me that they had forgotten to take my notes to the pharmacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sat until 5 0 clock for the bloody things to arrive and then toodled off home absolutely disgusted with my stay and i have still got the lovely prospect of MRSA to look forward to, this might take a while to appear but I'm confident in the fact it will appear.

Good Grief! Sounds like a nightmare, but at least they probably hit their stupid targets - well done the government, say I
i forgot to mention the best bit..........the bit where the idiot flushing saline through the drip charged away from it like a bull in a china shop and smashed straight into my leg, and yes, it was my bad leg!!!!!!
Hello, Phil. Well you have been having fun haven't you? You should copy that blog entry and send it to the Daily Mail or something. My Father in Law is in Castle Hill now, it doesn't fill me with confidence!
How is your leg now? Hope it's better.
